As we all know, gas prices are soaring and so are the cost of everything else. For us students, cutting back on food money is one of the easiest ways to save money. Well, we all know the best savings comes from home-prepared meals: sandwiches, bento and etc. Sounds good, but if you’re like me (lazy), you don’t have time to prepare meals at home. So the solution is to eat out on campus, but find the cheapest deals to fill that tummy of ours!
1. Subway
Subway? Yes, Subway. Some might be a little skeptical about Subway being the cheapest, but really, its the best price I can get to fill me up (somewhat).
For a footlong meatball/cold cut/pizza sub, it costs $6.71. Now if you have a friend, you can split the cost at about a$3.35! Can’t get much cheaper for that amount of food. (Albeit, Pie-R-Squared’s pizza is less than that, $2.25?)
Anyways, my personal favorite is the meatball! Its pretty tasty and its warm, for those who don’t like subway, thinking its too cold. What I usually get is lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, Jalapenos, topped with Chipotle Southwest sauce (+ Mayo occasionally). Its full for flavor and heat, and its healthy too! I’m not kidding you, that’s the ONLY thing I get at Subway. The only thing to be careful of is that this sub is very saucy, so it will get wet and soggy if you don’t eat it soon. Get the cold cut instead if you need to save it for later. Anyways, do try “Levi’s Spicy Meatball Sub” and save while you’re at it!
